Battle Creek Enquirer

The Michigan Battle Cats managed just on ehit for the second straight game in a 8-2 Midwest League loss on a chilly Monday night at West Michigan.

The Cats went hitless for 13 straight innings, the last eight of Sunday's game and the first five of Monday's game.

The Cats return home and start a four game series with the Lansing Lugnuts tonight.

WhiteCaps starter Jason moates (2-0) went six innings, allowing just one hit and striking out eight. Reliever Jerrod Fuell didn't allow a baserunner the final three innings.

West Michigan roughed up Cats starter Anthony Pluta (0-3) for five runs in the first inning.

The Cats scored on a sacrifice fly by Randy Rojas in the fifth.

The Cats then had an RBI triple by Brooks Conrad with no outs in the sixth.

Jory Coughenour has been promoted to Round Rock of the Texas League.
