Notes from the 1990 Clinton Giants yearbook
Clinton pitchers Chris Hancock and Chris Fye combined for a no hitter June 6th as the Giants downed Burlington 11-0 at Riverview Stadium.
Hancock, who'd lasted less than an inning in a start just two days earlier, pitched the first inning as a confidence builder. Hancock retired the Braves in order on just seven pitches.
Scheduled starter Fye took over in the second inning, and no-hit the Braves for the final eight innings. In fact, Fyye only allowed two balls to be hit out of the infield.
Hancock and Fye's no hitter was the first by a Clinton pitcher since May 9th, 1983 when Ramon Bautista blanked Appleton 2-0 in a 7 inning game.
