Game 2

Brad Knox pitched six innings of two hit ball, and got his 14th win of the season. He retired the first four he faced before giving up a single to Lou Palmasiano. The Snapper had six baserunners against him and none got to touch second base.

Brad only got behind in the count to six of the 22 batters he faced. A double play in the fourth inning helped errase the only walk that he would give up. He would strike out seven.

The Cougars offense lasted all of an inning and a half but it got the job done. In the second inning, Vasili Spanos led by drawing a walk. A wild pitch would move him to second. One out later, Dan Putnam walked. One more out later, Kory Wayment doubled to center to score Spanos. Chris Tritle then singled to left to score both Putnam and Wayment to give the Cougars the lead.

The third inning they could've scored. Luke Appert led off witha single to right. David Castillo then grounded into a double play. Spanos would strike out to end the inning. In the fourth they did score the other run they would need to win. Brian Snyder led off with a single to center. Putnam walked. Trevor Brown the reached on a fielder's choice, with Putnam being out at second, Snyder went to third. Wayment then grounded out to second, Snyder would come into score on the play.

The Cougars would have only one lapse in the pitching all day. Dan Fyvie who has been reliable all year, had a bad outing. With one out, he walked Grant Richardson. Terry Trofholz then popped one up in the triangle where neither the centerfielder, second baseman or the short stop could get the ball. Richardson couldnt tell if the ball was going to drop or not so he was closer to first than to second, and would be out on a force at second for the second out. Robby Deevers then doubled to center to score Trofholz. Carlos Corporan singled to left to score Deevers. Guilder Rodriguez popped up foul to first off of reliever Justin Crowder to end the game.
