About 10 Cougar fans

Striking out 17 times and leaving nine men on base including the bases loaded twice is a little frustrating. I will say this the Cougars did go for it, the lasted 12 innings with the best offense in the league and it took a walk off solo shot to win the game.

Trent Peterson threw a great game. He gave up a single in the first that bounced over his head. After that he no hit the Chiefs for four and two thirds innings. The sixth saw the Chiefs get two runners on but still not be able to score. Steve Sherman walked with one out. Joe Mather then singled to left. Anthony Monegan struck out. Brenden Ryan would then reach on a fielder's choice, with Mather being out at second to end the inning.

The next inning, Peterson would only last two inning before the pen came in. Daric Barton led off with a bunt single to third, that I though if the Cougars didnt pick up it mightve rolled foul. Matt Dryer then singled to left. Dan Fyvie came in to replace Peterson. Cal Hayes came in to pitch run for Dryer. Jarrett Hoffpauir bunted one back to Fyvie and he threw wild for an error. On the play if Kim wouldve bent down a little more he wouldve caught the ball. The bases were now loaded. Chris Patrick grounded into a double play. Barton scored. John Paul Davis singled to right to score Hayes. Justin Crowder came in for Fyvie. Crowder struck out Sherman to end the inning.

The Cougars did have some offense and the lead for awhile. They were no hit through four innings. In the fifth they scored both of their runs. Dan Putnam led off with a double to left. Trevor Brown then hit one down the left field line to score Putnam. Eddie Kim struck out looking. David Castillo blooped one into left field. Kory Wayment singled to right to score Brown. Brian Ingram flew out to right, Castillo tagged up and went to third. Nick Rogers walked to load the bases. Luke Appert then grounded one back to the pitcher to end the inning.

Both teams had chance to score. The Cougars, in the sixth Vasili Spanos led off with a single to center. One out later, Brown walked. A line out and a pop out later, the Chiefs were headed to the dugout. Their best chance may have been the tenth inning. Wayment led off with a walk. Ingram then reached on an error. With runners on first and second Nick Rogers popped up the bunt attempt for the first out. Appert singled to center to load the bases. Spanos struck out. Putnam flew out to right. In the 12th inning Wayment led off with a walk. Again!, Ingram poped up a bunt for an out. Rogers then hit into an inning ending double play.

The Chiefs also had chances in the late innings. In the eighth inning, Mather reached on a bunt. Monegan then bunted him over to second. Ryan was intentionally walked. Barton popped out to left. The Cougars then made a pitching change, to bring in Jason Windsor to replace Crowder. Dryer struck out looking to end the inning. In the ninth, with one out Chris Patrick was hit by a pitch, and went to second on a wild pitch. Sean Dobson walked. First and second with one out, Sherman struck out, and Mather popped out to third. In the eleventh with two outs, Patrick was hit by a pitch. Dobson singled to right. Cougars hurler Jose Corchado then struck out Sherman to end the inning.

Unfortunatly this game had to end with a homer, it was a good game, just lots of mistakes both mental and physical. With one out in the 12th, Anthony Monegan hit one onto the lawn just over the left field fense to end the game.
