Cedar Rapids Gazette

Brad Nelson hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday night to give the Beloit Snappers a 4-3 victory over the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Sending the Kernels losing streak to nine games.

The Kernels tied it at 3-3 in the seventh on a Nick Gorneault single and Jon Cahill double. Jeff Mathis homered for the Kernels in the sixth.

Joe Torres started and worked six innings for the Kernels. He struck out 10. Including seven straight batters.
