From the Quad City Times, May 31st, 1971

Travers, now 3-2, struck out eight and walked ony two. but the pair of free passes proved costly as they led to the Angles' only run in the top of the ninth.

QC's BoB Groth walked to open the ninth, advanced to third on Travers' throwing error at second base in a double play attempt and scored on a fielder's choice.

Danville jumped on Angel starter Larry Dierks for seven runs on two hits in the first inning. The big inning was highlighted by Gorman Thomas' three run homer.

Other Danville blasts were hit by Whitey Adams, Darrell Porter and Jose Alcaide.

The Angels and Danville wind up their series here tonight at 7:30
