Brad Knox pitched a great game today as he raised his record to 11-4, and they Cougars record to 31 games over the 500 mark. The Cougars sweep the season series from the Fort Wayne Wizards.

Knox pitched into the eighth inning. The eighth inning would be the only time he would give up runs, and the second time he would get into any trouble. Brad didnt walk anyone and struck out seven. In the sixth he would get into some trouble but work out of it. With two outs, Brian Wahlbrink singled to second. Drew Macias then doubled to right to get Wahlbrink to third. Brett Bonvechio then grounded out to first to end the inning.

The Cougars offense was on today as they scored five runs. In the first inning they would have a chance to score but couldn't take advantage of it. With one out Luis Perez walked. David Castillo then grounded out to short, Perez would move to second, a wild pitch would then move him to third. Eddie Kim would then ground out to first to end the inning.

In the third inning they would come through with a run. With one out Kory Wayment singled to left. Brian Ingram then singled to left. Luis Perez followed with a single to center to load the bases with only the one out. Castillo would then singled to right to score Wayment. Kim then hit into an inning ending double play.

In the fourth inning they had the bases loaded again and this time couldnt put a run across the board. Vasili Spanos walked. Dustin Majewski then grounded into a double play. Trevor Brown and Dan Putnam then walked. As Wizards starter Chris Tierney through eight straight balls. Wayment singled to third to load the bases. Ingram then would reach on a fielder's choice, with Wayment out at second.

Three runs in the fifth inning would help the Cougars out. Luis Perez led it off with a single to short. Castillo then singled to center, Perez went to third. Kim then reached on a fielder's choice with Castillo being out at second. Spanos was then hit by a pitch to load the bases. A wild pitch would move the runners along with Perez scoring. The Wizards then brought in Paul Abraham to replace Greg Conden. He got Majewski to ground to first for the second out. Brown would single to left to score Kim. Spanos would also score but on an error nyt hte left fielder as he was fielding the ball. Putnam lined to short to end the inning.

The final run for the Cougars came in the seventh. With one out Kim walked. Spanos would also follow with a walk. Majewski singled to right to load the bases. A wild pitch would move everyone along, with Kim scoring. Brown poped up to first for the second out. Putnam would end the ining with a grounder to short.

The Wizards started to take advantage of a tired Knox in the eighth. Matt Lauderdale led off with a triple to right center. Two outs later Wahlbrink singled to short to score Lauderdale. Macias then double to right to score Wahlbrink. The Cougars would then take out Knox after a fine outing, Dan Fyvie came on. Bonvechio then singled to center to score Macias to make it a two run game. Valenzuela would ground to second to end the inning.

Vasili Spanos had a weird game as he wasnt credited with an at bat in the game. He walked twice and was hit by two pitches. He would score once.
