The Cougars had one big inning tonight and that inning propelled them to the victory. Other than that inning the game wouldve been 3-2 Clinton. The Cougars scored five runs. The Cougars sent ten men to the plate and had five hits.

Dontrelle Willis made his third start of the year, and pitched well. He went six innings, and gave up three runs. Elvis DeJesus then came in and pitched the seventh and gave up a walk and a single. Kevin Cave was next and pitched two innings, getting three strikeouts.

For the Lumberkings, Jason Norderum started the game and got shelled. David Maust came in and stopped the bleading, he went two and one thirds inning of perfect ball getting two strikeouts. Chris Bye then got two outs and gave up five earned runs.

Michael Tucker got up to the plate five times and he reached base all five times. He walked three times and had two singles to right. He only scored once. Jason Stokes had three hits. He got a double and had two runs batted in.

The scoring started in the second inning for the Kings. Dominick Ambrosini lead things off with a triple to left, on the play leftfielder, George Arnott dove for the ball, and missed it, the ball got past him and Ambrosini made it to third. Clyde Williams then hit a sacrifice fly to right to allow Ambrosini to score from third.

The Cougars scored in the fifth when, with one out. Anthony Brewer walked, then stole second. Hunter Wyant then singled to left to get Brewer to third. Jason Stokes singeld up the middle to score Brewer. Charles Frazier then singled to left to drive home Wyant to take the lead. Michael Tucker then walked. The Lumberkings then made a pitching change, David Maust came in with the bases loaded and two outs. Maust gets a fielder's choice, to end the inning.

The next half inning saw the Lumberkings score again, with one out. Shawn Norris single through the middle. Drew McMillon then lined one to center. Anthony Brewer came in instead of going out, and missed the ball, it went over his head. McMillon got a triple. Norris scored. Willis got out of the inning with a groundout and a strikeout.

In the eighth inning the Cougars put up a rally. Michael Tucker singled to right. Guy Lynam tried to put down the sacrifice bunt. He got the bunt down and put it into no mans land between the mound and an uncoverd first base bag. Kris Clute then tried the butcher boy play and it worked. He singled to right to load the bases. William Arroyo grounded out to first. On the play Tucker scored. Anthony Brewer then blooped one to center for a single. On the play Lynam scored.
